Here is a trailer for a TV show currently in production here in NZ (Legend of the Seeker) based on the ‘Sword of Truth’ books by Terry Goodkind

Have not read any of the books, but I do know there are a lot of them, so like ‘Hercules’ and ‘Xena’ before, we could be in for a series that could potentally last a very long time.

This is a very cool ad that has been playing on NZ TV for a few weeks.  Enjoy!

Firefly

Do you know, or have you seen the short lived TV series Firefly?  For those of you in the dark, Firefly is set 500 years in the future where the US and China have joined forces to form the Alliance.  The name Firefly comes from the class of the spaceship that the show centers around.  The crew do under-the-counter deals, shipping cargo from one shady contact to another and getting into trouble every time!  It only lasted 11 episodes, but since the DVD release, and the sequel movie Serenity, has attracted a massive fan base.

For me, I saw Serenity before Firefly, and, since watching it, I now fully understand what is so great about the series.  At the start I didn't think crossing the 'old west' with Star Trek would work, but after watching 3 out of 4 disks, I have seen it works very well.  I would totally recommend anyone who is remotely interested in this, to rent the series and find out how good it is.
